What the policy covers

Civil liability insurance pays for harm that a business causes to other people and companies: a visitor's injury, water damage to neighbouring premises, damage caused by poor-quality work or a dangerous product. The injured party receives the money, and the company avoids large costs and lawsuits.

How we calculated

The rate is a percentage of the limit of liability. We took averages from Bank of Russia statistics for 2025 by type of liability and policyholder:

  • operations and premises (general liability), sole traders — 0.087%;
  • defective work and services: companies — 0.112%, sole traders — 0.287%;
  • manufacturers and sellers of goods: companies — 0.106%, sole traders — 0.531%;
  • construction works: companies — 0.099%, sole traders — 0.159%.

The average general liability rate for companies is distorted in the statistics by mass low-cost policies, so for this type we use the sole trader rate.

What affects the price

  • Type of business, number of visitors, floor area.
  • Limit per occurrence and deductible.
  • Territory and period of cover, claims history.

Estimates by company

The company coefficient is the ratio of its average premium per liability policy for products, work, services and construction to the market average (about RUB 60,000) according to the Bank of Russia for 2025. No data or a ratio outside 0.5–2.0 means "price on request".

Preliminary estimate

A contractor company, liability for defective work, limit RUB 10 million: 10,000,000 × 0.112% ≈ RUB 11,200 a year.
