About the company
SAO Geopolis has been on the insurance market since 27 April 1993. The company traditionally specialises in long-term life insurance, pension insurance and accident and sickness insurance. It services lifetime pension payment contracts, some of which were signed as early as 1994.
Geopolis holds two perpetual Bank of Russia licences dated 02.09.2015: SZh No. 0448 for voluntary life insurance and SL No. 0448 for voluntary personal insurance other than life insurance. The company has been a member of the All-Russian Insurance Association since 2016. Its CEO is Andrey Nikolaevich Garkavenko.
Since 1 July 2025 the company has stopped working with insurance agents and brokers and switched to direct sales: contracts are concluded directly with the insurer.
Types of insurance offered
- Life insurance — above all, pension insurance with regular payments.
- Voluntary health insurance (DMS).
- Accident and sickness insurance, including group cover for employees.
The company does not offer OSAGO (compulsory motor third-party liability insurance), KASKO (motor hull insurance) or property insurance — it has no licences for them.
Life insurance guarantees
Law No. 477-FZ introduces a guarantee of life insurance payouts through the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA/ASV) from 1 January 2027. Until then there is no such guarantee, so before signing a long-term contract it is worth studying the policy rules, surrender values and payment procedure carefully.
Key figures
According to the Bank of Russia, in 2025 Geopolis collected about RUB 9.3 million in premiums (104th place on the market) and paid out about RUB 386 million. Payouts far exceed new premiums, which is typical of a company fulfilling obligations under long-standing pension contracts. In the first half of 2026 premiums amounted to about RUB 3.1 million and payouts to about RUB 180 million.

If an insured event occurs, notify the company by phone or in writing, prepare the documents listed in the policy rules and keep copies of everything you hand over to the insurer.
If you disagree with the insurer's decision, first send it a written claim (pretenziya). An individual consumer can then apply to the Financial Ombudsman — for many disputes this is a mandatory step before going to court. See "Insured event" for details.
You can compare life and accident insurance programmes from different companies in the insurer directory or by sending a request to Polis Re specialists.
