About the company
Gersa Insurance Company LLC specialises in trade credit insurance. The business dates back to 2004, when the international Euler Hermes group opened a representative office in Russia. In 2011 the subsidiary insurer Euler Hermes Ru was set up, and since 2024 it has operated under the Gersa brand.
The company holds Bank of Russia licence SI No. 4293 (dated 01.07.2024) for voluntary property insurance. It is a member of the All-Russian Insurance Association self-regulatory organisation (since 2016), the Association of European Businesses and the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Under a decision of the Bank of Russia Board of Directors, it does not disclose its ownership structure or management.
Gersa's products are designed for businesses only: it does not sell policies to individuals and does not offer motor insurance.
Types of insurance offered
The company's core solutions:
- accounts receivable insurance — protection against buyers' non-payment, long delays and counterparty insolvency;
- commercial (trade) credit insurance — for suppliers selling on deferred payment terms in Russia and abroad;
- advance payment insurance — in case a supplier fails to return an advance after a failed delivery.
Beyond cover, the company monitors the financial health of its clients' counterparties and helps manage credit limits. Such a policy also makes it easier to raise financing against receivables. For other business risks, see business insurance or send a request to Polis Re specialists.

In trade credit insurance, a loss usually arises from a buyer's payment delay or insolvency. It is important to notify the insurer of overdue payments within the deadlines set in the policy, to stay within the approved credit limits and to keep the transaction documents — contracts, shipping documents and correspondence with the debtor. The exact claim procedure and deadlines are set out in the insurance contract.
