About the company
Russian National Reinsurance Company JSC (RNRC, RNPK in Russian) was established pursuant to Federal Law No. 363-FZ of 03.07.2016 by a decision of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia — its sole founder, which owns 100% of the shares. The company is responsible for reinsuring large risks in the country and ensures the stability of the Russian insurance market. Its Bank of Russia licence is PS No. 4351 for reinsurance.
RNRC's authorised charter capital is RUB 750 billion, its paid-up capital RUB 21.3 billion. The company is a member of the All-Russian Insurance Association, the Russian Chamber of Shipping, the Russian Association of Aviation and Space Insurers and, since September 2026, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
RNRC does not sell policies directly to policyholders: it accepts in reinsurance the risks insured by Russian insurance companies. This profile is intended primarily for insurers and corporate clients.

Reinsurance lines
- treaty (obligatory) reinsurance — contracts covering portfolios of risks;

- marine and aviation reinsurance — hulls, cargo, aviation.
The company runs an engineering centre — a platform for developing common market standards for loss assessment and for industrial and fire safety requirements for insured facilities.
Key figures
According to the Bank of Russia, RNRC's inward reinsurance premiums for 2025 amounted to about RUB 110.4 billion — the largest reinsurance portfolio on the Russian market.
Claims settlement and contacts
The cedant notifies RNRC of the event, describing the circumstances, the amount of the claimed loss or reserve and the planned settlement steps. The settlement procedure is defined by the reinsurance contract: "follow the fortunes", "claims cooperation" or "claims control".
