About the company
Russian Standard Insurance JSC was founded in 2003 and works in personal insurance: life insurance (in case of death, survival to a certain age or another event), accident and sickness insurance, and voluntary medical insurance. A separate product section is designed for customers of Russian Standard Bank.
The company is a member of the All-Russian Insurance Association (since 2016). Its Bank of Russia licences SZh No. 3748 and SL No. 3748 are perpetual.
Types of insurance offered
- Voluntary medical insurance (DMS) with treatment in clinics in Moscow and St Petersburg, plus plans for foreign citizens and labour migrants.
- Critical illness cover, including a cancer insurance programme.
- Accident insurance: policies for athletes (up to 10 sports in one contract, accepted for admission to competitions), tick-bite cover and a family first-aid plan.
- Travel insurance.
- Life insurance, including investment-linked plans, and job loss insurance for bank customers.
For investment-linked life insurance contracts, the company states that guaranteed sums insured are paid in full, while the calculation of investment income on foreign securities is postponed until depository restrictions are lifted.
Note on guarantees. Under Federal Law No. 477-FZ, guaranteed payouts on life insurance contracts through the Deposit Insurance Agency (ASV) will only be introduced from 1 January 2027. Until then there is no such guarantee, so when choosing a long-term or savings plan it is worth assessing the reliability of the insurer itself: its size, credit rating and surrender value terms.
