OSAGO with Astro-Volga

You can buy OSAGO online on the website or from an agent. The price is set by the Bank of Russia formula TB×KT×KBM×KVS×KO×KM×KS: base rate, territory, bonus-malus, driver age and experience, number of permitted drivers, engine power and period of use. The OSAGO calculator helps you estimate the price in advance, and the KASKO calculator does the same for motor hull cover.

OSAGO limits are RUB 400,000 for property damage and RUB 500,000 for harm to the life and health of each victim. If nobody is injured and the drivers agree on the circumstances, the accident can be registered without the traffic police under the European accident report (europrotokol): up to RUB 100,000, or up to RUB 400,000 when recorded via Gosuslugi Avto.

Note: under OSAGO, the main form of compensation for private passenger cars is repair at a garage designated by the insurer, not cash. A cash payment is possible in cases expressly set out in the law — for example, if the car is a total loss or by written agreement with the insurer.

Contacts and claims

  • Website: www.astrovolga.ru — policy purchase, office addresses, claims procedure.
  • Head office: 167 Artsybushevskaya Street, Samara.

After an OSAGO accident, the claim is filed with the at-fault driver’s insurer (or with your own insurer under direct settlement if only vehicles were damaged). Prepare your passport, driving licence, vehicle documents, the accident notice or traffic police documents and bank details. Do not repair the car before the inspection.

If the insurer refuses or underpays, send a written claim and then apply to the Financial Ombudsman — free of charge. A step-by-step guide is in the Insured event section. Polis Re specialists can help compare Astro-Volga with other insurance companies or choose a policy — submit a request.
