About the company

Megaruss-D Insurance Company LLC was founded in 1995 (until 10 November 2014 it was the closed joint-stock company ZAO SK Megaruss-D). It operates under Bank of Russia licences SI No. 2877 and SL No. 2877 dated 14.04.2015 for voluntary property and personal insurance. Its authorised capital is RUB 300 million. The company is a member of the All-Russian Insurance Association.

Megaruss-D has historically specialised in large corporate risks: according to the company, it has taken part in insuring more than 200 international and federal space projects, as well as aviation, marine and construction risks. To serve the defence and space industries, it holds an FSB licence to handle information classified as a state secret.

In August 2022 the company voluntarily surrendered its licences for OSAGO (compulsory motor third-party liability insurance) and compulsory state life and health insurance of military personnel; the Bank of Russia revoked them by order OD-1784 of 25.08.2022. Voluntary insurance continues: the SI and SL licences remain valid.

Key figures

According to Bank of Russia data for 2025, the company collected RUB 1.32 billion in insurance premiums and paid out RUB 194 million, ranking 63rd among Russian insurers by premium volume. In the first half of 2026, premiums amounted to RUB 543 million and payouts to RUB 124 million (65th place for the half-year).

Payouts in 2025 were about 15% of premiums; for a company with large corporate contracts this ratio depends heavily on individual losses.

As of October 2026, the company has no active financial strength ratings from Expert RA, ACRA, NCR or NRA.

If an insured event occurs, notify the company as early as possible and within the time limits set in your contract, have the event recorded by the competent authorities and do not change the scene of the loss before inspection.
