About the company

Zetta Life Insurance (Zetta Strakhovanie Zhizni LLC) is a specialist life insurer registered in 2003. It was formerly called Allianz Life Insurance Company LLC. It belongs to the Zetta Insurance group together with the multi-line company Zetta Insurance and is based at the same address in Moscow.

Its Bank of Russia licences SZh and SL No. 3828 cover voluntary life insurance and personal insurance other than life. A significant part of the business comes from partner sales — through banks and credit institutions — and from the group’s agents.

Insurance products

A borrower life policy can be compared with offers from other insurers accredited by the bank: the bank must accept policies from insurers that meet its requirements. If you already have a policy, you can cancel it during the cooling-off period (at least 14 calendar days) if no insured event has occurred, and on early loan repayment you can recover part of the premium for the unused period.

In mortgage life insurance, the sum insured is usually the outstanding debt plus 10% and decreases as the loan is repaid, so the premium is recalculated every year. The price depends on the borrower’s age, sex, health and occupation; if there are chronic conditions, the insurer may request a medical examination.

Key figures

According to the Bank of Russia, in 2025 Zetta Life Insurance collected RUB 10.2 billion in premiums and paid out RUB 11.1 billion, ranking 32nd in the market (a share of about 0.26%). Payouts exceeded premiums — this happens at life insurers when large portfolios of endowment and investment contracts mature. In the first half of 2026 — RUB 5.8 billion in premiums and RUB 5.3 billion in payouts (33rd place).

Rating and financial strength

On 26.05.2026 Expert RA affirmed the company’s rating at ruAA- with a stable outlook — a high level of reliability on the agency’s national scale.

The Deposit Insurance Agency (ASV) guarantee for life insurance payouts is introduced by Federal Law No. 477-FZ and will take effect only on 1 January 2027. Until then there is no state guarantee on life insurance contracts, so before buying a long-term plan study the key information document: guaranteed return, surrender values, fees and exclusions.
